The Paca Bank Launches on iOS and Android, Bringing a Friendly Alpaca to the Front Line of Children’s Financial Literacy
New app from independent studio debuts with “Little Savers,” a 36-lesson curriculum for children aged 5–7 — the first of four planned packs covering ages 5 through 16.
DUBLIN, IRELAND — April 15, 2026 — The Paca Bank, a new mobile app dedicated to children’s financial literacy, is officially available today on the Apple App Store and Google Play. Built around Paca, a world-travelling alpaca who loves money, the app turns the often-intimidating world of personal finance into something kids actually want to open after school.
The launch is anchored by Little Savers, the app’s first content pack — a 36-lesson curriculum spread across six modules. Designed for children aged 5 to 7, Little Savers introduces the fundamentals: what money is, where it comes from, the difference between needs and wants, how saving works over time, the basics of earning, and how to make a first spending decision they won’t regret. Each lesson is short, narrated, and ends with a quick check-in so children can move at their own pace. Little Savers is the first of four planned packs that will eventually cover the full 5-to-16 age range.
“Most money apps treat kids as miniature adults or as customers in training,” said the team behind The Paca Bank. “We wanted something different — a calm, curious companion who explains money the way a thoughtful older sibling would. Paca isn’t trying to sell anyone a debit card. She’s trying to help a six-year-old understand why the coin in their hand has any value at all.”
Unlike many entrants in the children’s fintech space, The Paca Bank holds no money, issues no cards, and asks for no banking details. It is purely educational. There are no subscriptions, no advertising, and no data harvesting. Each content pack — starting with Little Savers — is a one-time purchase processed entirely by Apple or Google, in line with the studio’s stated commitment to keeping family data out of third-party hands.
The Little Savers pack covers, among other topics:
- Module 1 — What Is Money? The history of trade, why coins exist, and the strange idea that paper can be valuable.
- Module 2 — Earning. Where money comes from, the link between work and reward, and a child’s first ideas about earning their own.
- Module 3 — Saving. The piggy bank, the jar method, and the surprising power of waiting.
- Module 4 — Spending. Needs vs. wants, comparing prices, and the feeling of buyer’s remorse.
- Module 5 — Giving. Charity, generosity, and why money shared is sometimes money best spent.
- Module 6 — Looking Ahead. Goals, plans, and the very first idea of a budget.
Future packs are already in development, expanding into pocket money, budgeting, basic banking, the world of work, and — for the older end of the audience — an honest introduction to investing.
